Beyond Academics

Educating Girls of the 21st Century for a Brighter Tomorrow

We at La Martiniere Girls’ College believe that every student should be given a diverse platform to learn and express uniqueness, creativity and emotions thus enabling them to become more influential and charismatic people. This belief led to the birth of the club ‘Melange’ in 2023. ‘Melange’, meaning ‘a varied mixture’, represents a unique blend of various creative, innovative and ingenious fields. This extraordinary club is dedicated to nurturing the talents and potential of students by providing them with a diverse platform for personal and creative development. By integrating Art, Dance, IAYP, and Ted-X, the club offers a comprehensive and enriching experience that caters to a wide range of passions and aspirations. Students who engage with Melange have the opportunity to explore, express, and excel in various fields, unlocking their true potential in the process.

Dance Teacher Incharge - Mrs Sinha

Dance is another captivating aspect of Melange, where students can discover the joy of movement and expression. La Martiniere Girls’ College offers students an opportunity to showcase their dance talent and learn new skills, including Bharatnatyam, a classical Indian dance form. The school's new dance club promotes diversity by accommodating various Classical, Western and Indian dance forms, allowing students to gain a better understanding and appreciation of different traditions.

TedX Teacher Incharge - Ms. B. Kalra

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” Tedxyouth@lmgc strives to bring to the students of La Martiniere Girls’ College inspirational and cerebral talks from people who come from different walks of life. The first Tedx event in LMGC took place in 2019 and the legacy followed all the way through 2022, each year getting bigger and better. Our aim while conducting this event is focused on the growth and development of the young minds filled with curiosity, energy, and potential.

Art Teachers Incharge - Ms. F. Hasan and Mrs. B. Hasan

The art club provides a platform for creative expression and fosters a sense of community, allowing students to explore their artistic talents, connect with like-minded individuals, and find solace and inspiration in the power of art, promoting personal growth and emotional well-being. The existence of the art club reflects the human need for self expression, cultural preservation, and the celebration of diverse perspectives, bridging gaps between individuals and cultivating a deeper understanding of the world.
